CHRISTMAS:

I hear your bells, your fleeting call

But know what comes, I know it all.

You throw off care, yet carry fear

Still, I draw close. I now appear.

WORLD:

Christmas is here, bringing good cheer,

To young and old, meek and the bold.

CHRISTMAS:

You say I’m here to make hearts light

But I return without delight.

To liberate both slave and lord,

I come not soft, I come with sword.

But know the bells foretell the fire.

I am the One who hears the cry,

Above the noise, beneath the sky.

The cheer you sing is not unknown

It echoes from a borrowed throne.

CHRISTMAS:

You spread the tale like falling snow

Yet miss the truth you claim to know.

Your voices rise, the earth resounds

But I return to shake the grounds.

Songs of good cheer, Christmas is here.

CHRISTMAS:

And yes, I am here but not in jest

I come to sift, to test, to wrest.

The bells you ring now summon Me

Not as a babe, but Majesty.

CHRISTMAS:

You chant My name in endless cheer

Yet know not who is drawing near.

Your joy is sweet, your voices loud

But I descend through cloud and shroud.

WORLD:

On, on they send, on without end,

Their joyful tone to every home.

CHRISTMAS:

The joy you send, it reaches far

But I now ride on a different star.

To every home, the sound will go on

And I will come, as long foretold.

CHRISTMAS:

So let them toll, those final chimes

I’ve heard them ring through all your times.

But now they mark what angels see:
